Good morning, Tolland County!
Today is Tuesday (Feb 17), National Random Acts of Kindness Day, and the mission is easy: do one small good thing for somebody just because you can.
Spot someone at the coffee shop, hold the door, check in on that friend you keep meaning to text, or help someone out at the light. Around here, those little gestures travel fast and make Windham County feel a whole lot more human.

HIVE CHARITY SPOTLIGHT: FOODSHARE ON THE MOVE

If you want to turn Random Acts of Kindness Day into something real, Connecticut Foodshare’s Mobile Pantry is a great place to start. Their no-questions-asked food distribution hits multiple Tolland County stops on Thursday, Feb 19:
Ellington (Ellington LDS Church): 9:00-9:30 am
Tolland (United Congregational Church): 10:00-10:30 am
Mansfield (Mansfield Human Services): 11:30 am-12:00 pm
Columbia (Beckish Senior Center): 1:00-1:30 pm
Share this with someone who could use it, offer a ride, or help spread the word. Small kindness goes a long way around here.
CT Foodshare is fighting hunger across our state with real impact and real innovation, so take a minute to check them out and see how you can be part of the solution.

BUZZ & TELL
🐶Adopt-a-pal: Meet Rocco is a smart, playful 2-year-old lovebug looking for an active home with a fenced yard, adventure, and plenty of snuggles.
🏡House of the week: Full “European chateau in Connecticut” energy, with mountain views, a dramatic two-story foyer, and serious entertaining space. Think spa-like primary suite, wine nook, multiple fireplaces, and a huge deck that makes hosting way too easy. Check it out!
🔭Sky report: New Moon hits on Feb 17, so this is your best window for darker skies and better stargazing before moonlight ramps back up. Right after sunset on Feb 18-19, look low in the western sky for Mercury (near its best evening visibility around greatest elongation) with a thin crescent Moon nearby. If you have a clear horizon, this is a fun one to catch.
