Good morning Tolland County Swarm! Today is Tuesday 2/10, and you’re going to notice a little change to the Bee Line Events. Since I tend to talk (or type) a little too much, the newsletter has been getting cut off for a bunch of you, so I’m shortening up the descriptions, and adding to the mystique of the event (which you can dispel by clicking on the link). There is another reason, but that will be announced some time in the near future. In the meantime, let’s see what Tolland County has going this week.

In Today’s Tolland County Buzz:

  • Where To Buy Your Flowers

  • Buzz & Tell

  • Galentine’s Day Brunch

  • 29 Events

Let’s dive in!

SHOP LOCAL

Skip the sad grocery store bouquet and hit a local florist this week, your flowers will actually look like someone tried. Valentine’s Day is coming, so fellas treat your lady, ladies treat yourself, or grab a “just because” bunch that makes your kitchen feel expensive. Bonus: buying local keeps our small shops buzzing and your arrangement won’t die in 36 hours.

Wildflowers of Tolland: A charming boutique shop in the town center specializing in artistic, custom designs and daily local delivery.

Michelle's Florals: This long-standing Vernon staple is known for high-quality, florist-designed arrangements and reliable same-day service.

Colonial Flower Shoppe: Located in Somers, this family-run business offers a wide range of seasonal blooms along with chocolates and plush gifts.

Rooted Dreams Floral & Design Company: A woman-owned Mansfield studio focusing on lush, seasonal arrangements sourced from local Connecticut flower farms.

Floral & Gifts of OWC Too!: Provides handcrafted, professional floral arrangements and same-day delivery for any occasion in the Vernon Rockville area.

BUZZ & TELL

🐶Adopt-a-pal: Meet Luckie, a 57-lb doodle with a big goofy grin who’s still all joy after losing his home in a fire. He’s 1 year old, loves attention, will instantly roll over for belly rubs, and already knows sit and paw plus he walks nicely on a leash.

🏡House of the week: This dream house is a 7,283 sq ft custom beast with 5 beds, 6 baths, sitting on 4.13 private acres in a gated community. It’s got unobstructed 180-degree sunset views and enough fireplaces to make winter feel like a rom-com. Get your wallet ready.

🐦Sighting of the week: Had a tufted titmouse posted up at the window feeder like it paid rent, bold little guy, zero fear, full main-character energy.

🔭Sky report: Jupiter is the main character this week, bright in the evening sky, easy to spot even from your driveway. Orion, Taurus, and Gemini are still putting on a winter flex overhead, and the Moon is waning toward a Feb 17 new moon, so nights get darker as the week goes on. No major meteor peak, but you can still catch a few shooting stars, especially later at night if you ditch the porch light.

DINNER CLUB

Dinner Club is back Feb 19 at 6pm, and if your winter social life has been a little too “me, my couch, and my group chat,” this is your sign. We’ll match you with a table that fits your vibe, and by dessert you’ll be doing that thing where you’re like, “wait… how have I not met these people yet?” Grab your spot now!

BUZZ BULLETIN

Got a grand opening, a big event, a hiring push, or a local service you’re trying to get on people’s radar? Throw it in Tolland County Buzz and we’ll put it in front of thousands of locals who don’t just scroll, they actually go.

CONN-OPOLY: Connecticut in a box: inside jokes, real landmarks, and the kind of hometown nostalgia that turns “one round” into “wait, it’s midnight?” Grab a copy for your next get-together or gift it to a proud Nutmegger, because nothing bonds people faster than arguing over Hartford traffic and who really owns the shoreline. Get yours now.

Ellington Historical Society: Now accepting vendors for its Vintage & Antique Market on Saturday, May 2 at the Nellie McKnight Museum (70 Main St.). The market runs 8am–2pm. Spaces are 20’x20’ outdoor plots for $40 and they’ll take antiques, vintage goods, and unique collectibles. Spots are limited. Apply

Word Scramble: Answer at bottom of newsletter.
